KytyPS5 has reached gameplay in the PS5 version of GTA V, and its weekly update lists progress in several other demanding games. GTA V reaching gameplay is meaningful emulator progress. GTA 6 remains untested. The newest detailed FPS report is for Astro Bot, and its roughly 40 fps figure came from a loading tunnel, not sustained play. With GTA 6 set for November 19, there is no verified basis for predicting a frame rate on KytyPS5 by launch.
AT A GLANCE
- Latest Rockstar-related progress GTA V reaches gameplay in Performance and Performance RT modes
- Newest measured game Astro Bot on a Core i9-12900KF and RTX 5080 at 4K
- The number to read carefully About 40 fps in a loading tunnel, not measured gameplay
- GTA 6 test status No boot, gameplay or compatibility test has been reported
- GTA 6 FPS by launch Unknown. KytyPS5 has made no launch promise or estimate
The project has made visible compatibility gains
KytyPS5 describes itself as an active PS5 emulator for Windows and Linux, with experimental macOS support. It is a heavily modified continuation of the older Kyty project. The team says current builds can boot 2D games and a selection of 3D games made with Unreal Engine 4 or 5, Unity, and custom engines. Its stated focus is broader game compatibility and more reliable boots, not a claim that most PS5 games already work.
The September 28 to October 4 update lists a long set of titles that now reach an in-game state in current development builds. These include UFC 5 and UFC 6, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Hi-Fi RUSH, Hades II, Silent Hill f, the Silent Hill 2 remake, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The update also says Astro's Playroom reached gameplay in a main-build test without a ray-tracing patch. DualSense haptics and controller-speaker audio are working over Bluetooth.
For GTA fans, the clearest milestone is the PS5 version of GTA V reaching gameplay in both Performance and Performance RT modes. The same update says GTA V graphics work remains in progress. Reaching gameplay means a game has passed a meaningful boot barrier, but it does not guarantee stable play, complete visuals, or acceptable speed. The post links to the existing GTA 6 release date and editions guide for the separate question of what Rockstar has announced about the game itself.

The newest detailed performance report in KytyPS5's tracker was posted by a community tester on October 5. It used Astro Bot version 01.018 and the official KytyPS5 build dc3cd2d, on Windows 11 with an Intel Core i9-12900KF, Nvidia RTX 5080, and 64 GB of system memory. The tester ran at 3840 by 2160, used the --amd-cpu and --redzone flags, and applied a non-ray-tracing patch adapted for that game version.
On the official build, the Astro Bot title screen ran at 36 to 40 fps. Loading a save brought a brief stretch of roughly 1 to 7 fps. The following loading tunnel then ran for more than four minutes at about 40 fps while reading data from storage. That long tunnel is where the 40 fps figure came from. The report does not show four minutes of normal Astro Bot gameplay at that speed.
The same report compared a separate community fork called BryKytyPS5. Its title screen reached 60 fps, but level entry first ran at 6 to 8 fps and then settled around 4 to 5 fps for more than a minute. Those results show why the game, scene, emulator build, patch, flags, and test phase all matter when someone posts an emulator FPS number. They are not a performance forecast for another title.

Rockstar's current official page lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026. KytyPS5's latest published compatibility update does not list GTA 6, and the project's releases show continuing development builds rather than a dated compatibility roadmap for Rockstar's next game. I found no developer statement promising GTA 6 support, a boot milestone, or a target frame rate by launch.
GTA V is a useful sign that the emulator can execute part of a Rockstar PS5 game. It is not a test of GTA 6. A different game can depend on system services, graphics behavior, memory patterns, and streaming work that the emulator has not implemented or validated. Even games that reach gameplay can have rendering issues or severe slowdowns, as the Astro Bot report demonstrates.
No GTA 6 frame-rate number is supportable yet. The game could fail to boot, stop before gameplay, or run poorly if it ever reaches a playable state. A claim of 30, 40, or 60 fps would need a real test of GTA 6 itself. The available evidence does not support one.
What to watch in future KytyPS5 updates
The project posts weekly compatibility notes and frequent builds. The next useful evidence would be more than another game reaching a menu: a repeatable report should identify the exact KytyPS5 build, game version, PC hardware, settings, patches, and whether the measured scene is actual gameplay. A developer statement about GTA 6 would also need to name a milestone and its limits before it could be treated as a schedule.
KytyPS5 releasesThe project's release history shows active builds but no GTA 6 schedule or compatibility promise.↗Until then, KytyPS5's progress is worth following for PS5 emulation. It shows new games entering testing and some reaching gameplay, including GTA V. It does not establish that GTA 6 will be playable on a PC when Rockstar releases it.
Frequently asked questions
Has KytyPS5 run GTA 6?
No GTA 6 boot or gameplay test is listed in the project's current update or compatibility material.
What is the latest Rockstar game shown running in KytyPS5?
The project says the PS5 version of GTA V reaches gameplay in Performance and Performance RT modes, while graphics work continues.
Does Astro Bot run at 40 fps in KytyPS5?
The community report measured about 40 fps in a loading tunnel. The title screen was 36 to 40 fps, and the report does not establish sustained gameplay at 40 fps.
How many FPS will GTA 6 get in KytyPS5?
There is no verified GTA 6 test or developer estimate, so a frame-rate number would be speculation.
The next benchmark needs to be GTA 6 itself
KytyPS5 has reached new compatibility milestones, and GTA V is now listed as reaching gameplay. That is the strongest GTA-related progress available today. For GTA 6, the test has not happened, the project has not set a launch target, and no frame-rate estimate is supportable.
