Monster Hunter Now's Halloween event gives returning pumpkin equipment a practical job: breaking monster parts. The seasonal Jack-o'-Head skill gets a tenfold effect during the event, while part-break rewards are doubled. Before rebuilding a loadout around that promise, check which version of the helmet you have equipped. Its layered appearance changes your look but cannot switch on its armor skills.

The official Halloween announcement separates the event into two hunting periods and keeps the exchanges open afterward. That gives you time to spend tokens and finish eligible upgrades, although the stronger hunting effects do not last for that entire window. If you came back for the costume, check its exchange cost before spending materials on combat equipment.

Equip Jack-o'-Head as armor

Open your equipment and select Jack-o'-Head in the actual armor slot. A saved layered outfit can still make a hunter look suitably spooky, so appearance alone is a poor way to check whether the skill is active. Look at the equipped armor and its skill information before setting out to farm parts.

Partbreaker (Halloween) normally increases damage accumulated on breakable parts by five percent. Its event multiplier applies to that specific seasonal skill. Regular Partbreaker does not receive the same multiplier, and the announcement does not describe a tenfold increase to every attack's overall damage. Build around the part you intend to break rather than treating the helmet as a universal damage upgrade.

The armor update also replaces its former Solidarity (Halloween) skill. An old build note or screenshot can therefore describe an effect that the helmet no longer provides. Check the current skill display after updating the game; the developer notes that restarting the app may be necessary for the changes to appear.

Save the second week for EX tokens

The first hunting period starts October 26 at 9:00 a.m. and runs to November 2 at 8:59 a.m. local time. The second starts November 2 at 9:00 a.m. and ends November 8 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Those are local-clock schedules, so a friend's countdown in another country may differ from yours.

Ordinary Halloween 2026 Exchange Tokens are available through event activities such as large-monster hunts and specified quests. The regular exchange includes the Harvest Cloak layered chest equipment. Check the reward list and costs before spending: a cosmetic you want may need the same pool of tokens as another useful item.

EX tokens belong to the pumpkin-carrying Kulu-Ya-Ku introduced in Part II. These special monsters provide access to the separate EX exchange, whose rewards include selected high-rarity materials and a Limited Ultra Hunting Ticket. Regular and EX tokens have different names and sources. If an exchange purchase appears out of reach, first check that you are collecting the matching currency.

If you are short on time, choose your exchange target before your hunting session. That makes it easier to decide which currency to collect when the second part opens.

Hunting ends before the exchanges close

November 8 at 11:59 p.m. local time is the deadline for the event's hunting bonuses and token collection. The Event Exchange Hub stays available until November 15 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Exchangeable materials are removed from the Item Box after the exchange period, so leaving currency unused is not a way to save it for a future rerun.

Reduced material requirements for eligible Halloween equipment also continue through November 15 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Use that extra period to compare upgrades against the materials you actually earned. A cheap upgrade is only useful if the weapon or armor belongs in a loadout you plan to play.

For a broader view of seasonal activities, our mobile events calendar lists other games' schedules. The EX hunts start a week later, so a session planned around those rewards needs the November 2 start date.
