Mycopunk's October 20 full release brings a new destination for experienced crews: X11-B, a moonlet built around a tougher challenge and a different environment. Pigeons at Play's October 18 developer update also previews weapon upgrades and Turbocharge changes. On PS5, the game joins the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on release day for Extra and Premium members.

X11-B gives established crews a new destination
In 1.0 and the Moon, the developer describes X11-B as a region intended to keep heavily upgraded players challenged. Putting it on a separate moonlet lets the team distinguish its mechanics and visual style from the environments players already know. The announcement does not give a mission-by-mission walkthrough, so its name alone should not be treated as a description of every encounter.
Returning groups can begin by reading the update and checking which saved equipment still suits their roles. It would be premature to prescribe one compulsory build for the region. The developer has described its goal, but a reliable route or a best-loadout claim would need evidence from the released version.
The same post says more content updates are being explored after release, including further regions. It gives no release calendar for those ideas. X11-B is the destination attached to this update; the later plans are worth following without treating them as dated promises.
Mycopunk: 1.0 and the MoonThe developer's preview of X11-B, new upgrades and Turbocharge adjustments.↗Several changes affect how weapons fit together
The preview pairs the new region with changes to existing equipment. Subzero Energy lets Cycler bullets apply cryo while lowering fire rate. Charging Port provides intermittent healing when the player stands on one of their plates. Plasma Arc gives the Trident a single plasma arc that damages a small area. These effects support different decisions about positioning and how a weapon contributes to a group.
Other changes deserve a closer read before you rely on familiar habits. The Accelerator's Confident Queen no longer refills its magazine when the other weapon deals damage; it instead gains ammunition capacity. A player who built around that refill should revisit the interaction. The preview also changes some grenade upgrade names, so a renamed option does not necessarily mean that your old equipment has disappeared.
A practical way to review a loadout is to identify its main interaction first. If your plan depends on healing while stationary, ammunition recovery or a particular damage element, find that effect in the new notes. Then compare the surrounding upgrades. Replacing an entire build before checking the specific change can make it harder to understand which part actually needed attention.
The Jackrabbit changes provide another example. All Powdered Up increases its damage while airborne according to the player's height above the target. Its Flamethrower Turbocharge increases flamethrower damage while the player is ignited. These conditions make positioning part of the build decision. Read the trigger as carefully as the weapon name before choosing which effect to support with the rest of your equipment.
New players can start with the core co-op loop
The Steam store description presents Mycopunk as a mission-based shooter with four-player co-op and a grid-based equipment system. Its robot crew takes on fungal threats, collects modifications and rebuilds equipment between missions. That structure explains why an equipment update matters beyond a list of damage adjustments: the pieces you combine are part of the game's progression.
If you are joining friends who already own the game, agree on a starting session before buying or subscribing. Ask which platform everyone will use and which content they want to tackle. A group that wants to learn the equipment together can spend its first session comparing modifications before moving on to the tougher region.
Devolver's 1.0 release-date trailer shows the co-op action ahead of the full release. The developer notes above explain the individual equipment changes.
PS Plus access depends on the membership tier
Sony's October catalog announcement lists Mycopunk for PS5 in the Extra and Premium catalog from October 20. Access comes through the subscription catalog; it is not a permanent free-to-keep promotion or an Essential monthly claim.
PlayStation's catalog support page explains the subscription requirements. Check the listing through the account you intend to use, especially if you are comparing a store purchase with catalog access. Our October PS Plus catalog guide covers the other additions, while the developer update is the more useful reading for an existing Mycopunk player.
