PS Plus October 2026 Games: F1 25, Hunt Showdown 1896

The October PlayStation Plus Monthly Games are F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. All three can be added from Tuesday, October 6 until Monday, November 2, 2026, and Sony announced the set on the PlayStation Blog on September 30.

What is in the October set

F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. Solo players get Career mode and My Team 2.0, where you run a team as its owner. Online, Sony highlights a new F1 World mode in which you and your friends race together as a squad against AI drivers. It is a PS5 game only.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is an extraction shooter built around bounties. You hunt a boss through a corrupted backwater, kill it, take the bounty and then fight your way out while other hunters try to do the same. You can go solo or bring up to two teammates. This one is also PS5 only, and PlayStation Plus members get a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack on October 6.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the only PS4 entry. You assemble a squad of four from the soldiers you have rescued, including characters from the EDF spin-offs, and fight redesigned voxel versions of earlier enemies. Sony lists four-player online co-op and two-player local split screen on both PS5 and PS4.

Which game to add first

The three games suit different players, and all of them are free to add, so the real choice is what you will install. F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 need a PS5, while Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the one to pick on a PS4. For group play, Hunt lets a squad of up to three hunters (you plus two teammates), EDF takes four online or two on one screen, and F1 25 builds its newest online mode around friends racing as a team against the AI.

The window is nearly four weeks, 27 days from October 6 to November 2, so there is no rush once the games appear. The September deadline is the one with a hard edge, because those four titles are gone after Monday, October 5.

Dates at a glance

Four dates matter this month. October 1 started the Warzone horror bundle, October 5 closes the September set, October 6 opens the new games, and November 2 closes them. The Spider-Man avatar promotion ends on October 20, and the Extra and Premium catalog news is expected on October 14, which is why this page is worth a second look after that date.

Claim the September games first

The September set stays in your library only if you add it before it leaves. Sony says members have until Monday, October 5 to add Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes.

Extras for members

Sony lists a few member extras next to the games. The Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle went live on October 1, the Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack arrives October 6, and the Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt + 5 Tier skips Pack follows on October 7. You need the base game to use any of the packs.

Limited-edition Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars arrive on October 6 on Sony Pictures Core. Members claim them in the app at no extra cost, and Sony's footnote puts the end of that promotion at October 20, 2026.

Extra and Premium catalog

Sony has not yet named the Game Catalog additions for Extra and Premium members. NME reports that the announcement is due on October 14.

Game Pass has its own October

On the Xbox side, Gears of War: E-Day launches worldwide on October 6 at 8:00 PT (15:00 UTC) on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, according to Xbox Wire. Early access opened on October 1 for Premium Edition owners and Game Pass subscribers with the Premium Upgrade, and cloud play runs through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW.
