Xbox Game Pass October 2026: Gears of War: E-Day and Exits

Gears of War: E-Day joins Xbox Game Pass on October 6, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC), and subscribers who bought the Premium Upgrade have been playing since October 1. Two outlets report nine games leaving on October 15, with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 the biggest loss. Xbox has not published its own leaving list.

Gears of War: E-Day on Game Pass

Xbox Wire's launch post says early access began on October 1 at 8:00 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC) for Premium Edition players and for Game Pass subscribers who buy the Premium Upgrade. The worldwide launch follows on October 6 at the same time, which is 16:00 in London and 17:00 in central Europe. Xbox Wire lists Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, with cloud gaming through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW. The game has a campaign for up to two players in split-screen, plus the Horde Siege co-op mode and Versus multiplayer, according to Xbox Wire. The standard price outside Game Pass is $69.99 USD on the Xbox Store.

The tier detail comes from Xbox Wire's September wave post, which lists E-Day for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, available on day one. It does not name Game Pass Premium for the game, while the same post does name Premium for titles such as Keeper and Ninja Gaiden 4. Premium subscribers should plan on buying the game or upgrading if they want it.

The Gears of War account on X repeated the timing in the run-up to the launch.

Other October additions

Xbox's Next Week on Xbox post for October 5 to 9 marks Echo Weaver for October 8 with Game Pass. It tags Neon Abyss 2 for the same day only as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, so treat its Game Pass status as unconfirmed by Xbox. Pure Xbox's October list adds Deep Dish Dungeon and Valor Mortis on October 13, Chained Beasts and Beyond These Stars on October 15, The Seance of Blake Manor on October 27 and Terrible Lizards on October 29. Xbox Wire has not posted its October wave yet, so those later dates are an outlet's reporting. Xbox's own post says release dates are subject to change, so check the Game Pass tab on the day. What is leaving Game Pass

Twisted Voxel (October 2) and GameRant (October 3) give the same nine titles leaving on October 15: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Pacific Drive, The Casting of Frank Stone, Evil West, Donut County, Crime Scene Cleaner, Superball and Nova Roma.

Xbox's catalog row confirms that eight of the games are on their way out, but it gives no exit date, and a store page's availability period is not a Game Pass exit date. Xbox Wire's own leaving list is the confirmation to wait for. Check it before you make plans around the 15th.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the exit most subscribers will care about. GameRant says it holds a Top Critic Average of 92 on OpenCritic and won nine awards at The Game Awards. Per Twisted Voxel, it came to Game Pass on day one, as did Superball and Nova Roma. Subscribers also see a member discount on games that are about to leave, so a game you have not finished may be cheaper to keep.

How to plan the week

If you want to finish Clair Obscur on Game Pass, start this week. For the others on the list, decide whether to play them before the middle of the month, buy at a member price if one is shown, or let them go. Gears of War: E-Day is the game to start on October 6 if you hold Ultimate or PC Game Pass, and a Premium subscriber needs another route to it.
