The Steam Autumn Sale ends on October 8 at 10:00 PT (17:00 UTC). On October 3, the deepest US cuts on Steam's front page were 90 percent off Skyrim Special Edition and The Outlast Trials, and 75 percent off Red Dead Redemption 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
When the Autumn Sale ends
Valve's announcement, posted on October 1, says the sale runs "now through October 8th at 10 a.m. Pacific". Valve's Steamworks events page lists the same October 1 to 8 window and puts the Winter Sale at December 17 to January 4. Pacific daylight time is UTC-7 until November 1, so the cut-off is 17:00 UTC: 18:00 in London, 19:00 in central Europe, 13:00 in New York, 01:00 on October 9 in Singapore and Beijing, and 02:00 on October 9 in Tokyo.
Valve also says you can earn stickers by working through your Discovery Queue during the event. Anything you are undecided on is worth wishlisting now and deciding before the cut-off, because these Autumn Sale prices end then and are not guaranteed to return.

Steam's US store lists these prices, and its price data gives 17:00 UTC on October 8 as the end of every one of these discounts. All five carry a Very Positive rating across all reviews.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition: $3.99, down from $39.99 (90 percent).
- The Outlast Trials: $3.99, down from $39.99 (90 percent).
- Red Dead Redemption 2: $14.99, down from $59.99 (75 percent).
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: $14.99, down from $59.99 (75 percent).
- Cyberpunk 2077: $17.99, down from $59.99 (70 percent).
The Outlast Trials is a horror game for one to four players from Red Barrels, released on Steam on March 5, 2024. The euro store charges 3.89 EUR against a list price of 38.99 EUR, so regional prices differ by a few cents. Every one of these is a paid game on sale, and you keep it once bought.
How to judge a deal
A percentage says little without the starting price. A 75 percent cut on a 60 dollar game leaves it at 15 dollars, which can still cost more than a 50 percent cut on a 20 dollar one. Three checks help before you buy.
- Compare the sale price with the game's own price history, not its launch price. SteamDB tracks that history for every Steam game.
- Read recent reviews as well as overall ones, because a patch can change how a game is rated.
- For multiplayer games, look at how many people still play. A cheap game with an empty lobby is wasted money.
Steam also sends an alert when a wishlisted game goes on sale, so a wishlist is the easiest way to catch a price drop you would otherwise miss.
No More Room in Hell 2 at 25 percent off
Torn Banner's zombie shooter No More Room in Hell 2 costs $22.49 in the US store, down from $29.99. The studio announced the discount on Steam on October 1 together with a 2x XP weekend and a milestone of one million players since its full release.
The studio's Steam post is the source for the sale and for the XP weekend, which ends on October 5 at 1 p.m. Eastern. The game's store page currently shows a Mixed rating across all reviews.
What comes after the sale
The sale overlaps with two other dates on the same day. Valve's Steamworks schedule has the Next Fest Press Preview opening on October 8 at 10:00 PT, and ARC Raiders has a free weekend on Steam from 09:00 UTC that morning, covered in our ARC Raiders free weekend guide. The demo festival itself runs October 19 to 26, and our Steam Next Fest guide has the details. After that, Steamworks lists Steam Scream V Fest, a horror and Halloween event, for October 26 to November 2.
