Steam Cooking Fest 2026: Dates and What to Expect

At a glance

Steam Cooking Fest is live from October 12 through October 19, 2026. Valve's schedule describes the theme as games about cooking, feeding people, and everything between. That leaves room for restaurant management, food preparation, and games where cooking is one part of a larger adventure. The official schedule sets the dates, while Steam's live event and category pages show the current selection and prices.

The dates and theme

Valve lists the fest in its Steam events schedule for October 12 to 19. Its Cooking Fest 2026 page gives the event theme and links to registration and eligibility information for participating developers. The public-facing store event is where players can browse games during the sale.

The theme is broader than restaurant simulators. A game may focus on preparing meals, feeding customers, or use food as part of another activity. Valve's description does not promise that every cooking-themed game on Steam will appear in the event, so use the event's current catalog as the final list rather than assuming a title is included.

How to find games and discounts

Start at the Steam Cooking category, then check the event page for games highlighted during the fest. Steam's catalog can show prices in your store region, so the discount you see may differ from a price quoted in another country. Open each product page to confirm the current price, discount period, supported language, and whether it has a demo.

The category is useful even if you are not looking for a large restaurant simulator. It can surface smaller cooking games, management games, and titles that put food into a wider crafting or survival loop. If you already have a shortlist, search each title directly and compare the event price with its normal regional price before buying. The sale runs for a limited week, but a discount is only useful if the game fits what you want to play.

Steam's themed events can include discounted games and other eligible items. The exact selection and prices are set on the live store pages. A developer's game page is the better place to check controller support, multiplayer options, system requirements, and demo availability before purchasing.

If a game has a free demo, try it before buying to see whether its pace suits you. Cooking games range from short, score-based challenges to slower management campaigns, and the category page alone may not explain that difference. Read recent user reviews for details on performance or co-op support, then use the store page to confirm the current price and included languages.

What the fest does and does not tell you

The official schedule confirms the dates and theme, but it does not provide a fixed list of every player-facing discount in the schedule itself. Nor does the theme mean that all food-related games receive a price cut. Look at the event listing for the actual participating games and their current prices. Steam's store pages can change during the week as discounts begin or end.

If you are comparing this with the Steam Autumn Sale, that promotion ended on October 8. The Autumn Sale recap covers that separate seasonal sale. Cooking Fest is a themed event with a narrower subject, so it is a better time to browse if you specifically want food, restaurant, or kitchen-focused games.

A note on the available trailer

Steam has an official Cooking Fest 2024 trailer, but it is from the earlier event. It is useful for seeing the kind of store promotion Valve has used before, not as a preview of the 2026 game list or discounts. The 2026 dates and theme in this article come from Valve's current documentation. Check the live Steam pages for this year's featured games.
