- Season 31 change Legend ban phase in Diamond+ matches
- Season 32 Planned for early 2027
- New ranks Iron, Emerald and Grandmaster
- Scoring update Fixed RP values for kills and placement
EA's Apex Legends Ranked roadmap lays out two waves of changes: Season 31 begins in November with Legend bans for Diamond+ matches and scoring adjustments, while Season 32 is planned for early 2027 with new ranks, separate Open and Pro-Am leagues, revised rewards and a flatter Ranked Point system. EA says more Season 32 details will arrive closer to launch.
What arrives with Season 31
The first changes start with Season 31 in November. EA says Diamond+ matches will add a Legend Ban phase alongside Drop Zone deployment. Each player gets to nominate one Legend for a possible ban. The game then uses the share of votes to set each candidate's chance of being banned, rather than automatically removing whichever Legend got the most votes.
That distinction is intended to stop the highest-voted character from becoming a predictable ban every match. All nominated Legends are shown with their probability before the selection is made. If a Legend is banned, nobody in that match can choose them. EA says this applies to matches that include Diamond+ players.
The Season 31 plan also includes scoring adjustments and quality-of-life improvements. The roadmap does not provide every number yet, so players should treat the published detail as a direction for the season, not a complete points table. The official Ranked roadmap says further details will come as each season approaches.
Season 32 separates Open and Pro-Am play
EA is planning a larger restructure for Season 32 in early 2027. The new setup separates the current Ranked experience into Open League and Pro-Am League. Open League is aimed at players working their way through the ranks, while Diamond, Masters and Grandmasters make up the Pro-Am side. The Pro-Am League is where Drop Zone deployment and Legend Banning will be used.
Three rank names change or arrive. Iron replaces Rookie as a standard rank, Emerald is inserted between Platinum and Diamond, and Grandmaster sits above Masters. Emerald is planned to have four divisions. EA says a player will need to finish in the top 750 of Grandmaster to earn a Predator badge at the end of the season.
These ranks change where the league split occurs. Emerald becomes the threshold between Open and Pro-Am, so reaching Diamond will no longer be the first point of separation. EA's post says rank progression values will be recalibrated with Emerald's addition. It has not yet provided a complete progression chart for players to calculate their expected placement.
Ranked Points will be easier to read
Season 32 is planned to give each kill and each placement a set RP value, removing the current multiplier between kills and final placement. Under the roadmap, kills no longer become more valuable based on how well a squad places. The stated goal is to make points easier to predict and to reduce the need to calculate them during a match.
All kills made by a team will award full kill RP to every player, regardless of individual contribution. EA says assists and participations will be removed from the scoring system as part of this change. It describes the update as a team-based reward model, which means support players should receive the same kill points as the teammate who secured the elimination.
Entry costs are also due to increase by division instead of by full rank tier. EA says the change should smooth out the sharp jumps players currently face when entering a new rank, including Diamond. Open League and Pro-Am League will value kills and placement differently: Open League will weigh kills somewhat more heavily, while Pro-Am will put more weight on placement.
Rewards and weekly ladders
EA's early preview of Season 32 rewards includes seasonal Auras, additional uses for Auras, a revisit of Ranked Dive Trails, Epic and Legendary Apex Packs, and rewards when a player is promoted. The company says the reward information is intentionally incomplete and promises fuller details closer to Season 32's launch.
Weekly Ladders are planned to go away in Season 32. EA says it is rethinking limited-time competition and will share more next year. That is a roadmap statement rather than an immediate change to the current season, so players should not expect the ladders to disappear before the stated Season 32 timing.

What remains unconfirmed
The roadmap does not provide an exact launch date for Season 32, a full scoring table, the complete Season 31 point adjustments or the final reward list. EA says further details will be released nearer to Season 32. Players using the Steam version of Apex Legends can follow the store's update history for client updates, but the Ranked schedule and feature details come from EA's roadmap.
The biggest near-term change is the Season 31 ban phase for Diamond+ lobbies. The deeper rank and scoring overhaul is currently planned for early 2027, and the details may change as Respawn shares more information.
