The Mario Tennis Fever Open October 2026 is a one-day bracket on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Registration closes at 9:30 AM Pacific time that morning, the bracket starts at 10:00 AM PT, and the final four players are livestreamed from 1:00 PM PT until a champion is decided. Registration opened on October 5, so the sign-up window is already running. Nintendo's announcement of the tournament is the source for every date, rule and prize in this guide.

How the bracket is structured
Nintendo runs the first stage as a single-elimination bracket of one-on-one, best-of-three matches. Each match uses Extended Play settings: one set, two games and a tiebreaker. Every character and every Fever Racket is allowed, and matches are played on the grass Stadium Court with a standard ball.
Nintendo does not publish how long the first stage will take. It gives a 10:00 AM PT start for the bracket and says the top four are livestreamed from 1:00 PM PT until a champion is decided. The final stage therefore has a fixed start time on the stream but no fixed end.
When four players remain, the bracket changes. The top four move into a double-elimination bracket, and that stage is the one Nintendo livestreams. A player who loses once in that stage still has a path to the title, which is why the livestream runs until a champion is named rather than for a fixed length.
Registration and the form
Entry goes through Battlefy at battlefy.com/nintendovs/mario-tennis-fever. Nintendo's article links to that page, and every player must register there during the registration period. The form can ask for a full name, a home address (P.O. boxes are not accepted), a phone number, a date of birth, a contact email, an in-game name, the 12-digit Nintendo Switch Friend Code and Nintendo Account details.
Those are personal details, so read the form before you start and submit it only on the Battlefy page that Nintendo links. The tournament is open to legal residents of the US, including DC, and Canada aged 13 and over, and to Mexico residents aged 18 and over. Players need a Switch 2 system, a copy of Mario Tennis Fever, a Nintendo Account, a reliable high-speed connection and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo's store page for the game lists a regular price of $69.99 in the US, so a player who does not own the game should factor that in before registering.
What the prizes include
Nintendo lists eight prize packages. The grand prize winner receives a Mario Tennis Fever grand prize trophy, a NintendoVS duffle bag, a water bottle, a convertible cinch bag, a sweatband, a hand towel and a visor. The first and second prize winners receive their own trophies along with the same accessories. The third prize winner receives the duffle bag and accessories without a trophy. Four fourth-place winners each receive a water bottle, cinch bag, sweatband, hand towel and visor.
Nintendo says it will notify winners within 10 days after the tournament concludes.

Nintendo states every time in Pacific time, so readers elsewhere need to convert before planning. Registration closes at 16:30 UTC on October 24, which is 12:30 PM Eastern. The bracket starts at 17:00 UTC and the livestream begins at 20:00 UTC. These conversions use Pacific daylight time, which stays in effect until US clocks change on November 1. Europe changes its clocks earlier, on October 25, so UK and European readers should check their local time against UTC rather than against a fixed offset.
