Pokémon GO's Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day takes place on October 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event introduces Mega Chandelure in Super Mega Raids and lists up to six free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs. An optional US$4.99 ticket adds further bonuses.
Arrange a group and check the entry requirements before spending on the event. A paid event ticket does not remove the need to defeat the boss, and a higher Remote Raid limit does not make remote participation free.
Start with the free event rewards
The official event notice lists six free Raid Passes, increased Shiny Chandelure chances and Chandelure encounters with Mega Level 1 already unlocked after a successful Super Mega Raid catch. Increased Shiny odds are a chance, not a guaranteed Shiny encounter.
Event Timed Research also awards a Premium Battle Pass and a Tyranitar encounter. The tasks and rewards expire, so open the research screen and check its timer before leaving the event. The notice says to finish and claim before that research ends, without supplying a separate exact closing hour for it.
The 2:00-5:00 p.m. session follows local time, so friends in another region may have their event hours before or after yours. The shared Global Challenge below is the part announced in Pacific Time.
The official account introduced the event with this post:
What the ticket adds, and what it does not
The US$4.99 ticket, or the local pricing equivalent, lists up to 14 Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs, a greater chance of Rare Candy XL, and an additional 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust from Super Mega Raid Battles. Its bonuses apply during the October 31 local event hours.
The 14-pass allowance is the ticket holder's stated total. Do not add the six-pass free allowance again and advertise 20 passes. The ticket is also optional; decide whether you have the time and group to use its benefits before buying it.
Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins. The event notice allows gifting to friends at Great Friends level or higher and lists the ticket in the in-game shop until October 31 at 5:00 p.m. local time. A separate Web Store box at the same stated US price includes an event ticket and a bonus Premium Battle Pass. Check the actual local checkout price and contents before choosing between them.
Super Mega Raids require planning with other Trainers
The official Super Mega Raid explainer recommends at least seven other Trainers, each with a Mega-Evolved Pokémon in their party. That wording means planning for a group of at least eight including yourself. It is guidance for the battle type, not a promise that every group wins with exactly that number.
The boss can raise shields that reduce normal attack damage. Trainers use their Mega-Evolved Pokémon to break shields, with one shield break per Trainer under the published rules. The same guide explains that Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon and a Ditto transformed into a Mega-Evolved Pokémon cannot perform that shield break.
For local entry, the guide lists Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass. Remote Super Mega Raids require both a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges. Read the entry screen before joining, particularly if you are counting on the free event passes to cover every resource.
The Global Challenge runs on a different clock
The shared challenge runs from October 30 at 5:00 p.m. PDT to October 31 at 8:00 p.m. PDT. That is October 31 at 00:00 UTC through November 1 at 03:00 UTC. The Remote Raid limit rises to 20 over that same announced Pacific-time window.
The number of challenge tiers completed determines later bonuses. From November 2 at noon PST until November 15 at noon PST, eligible Mega Chandelure can receive boosted Ominous Wind+ power, while Super Max Level Mega Chandelure can receive a CP boost. The notice excludes the attack-power bonus from GO Battle League.
The later bonuses have their own dates; the October 31 raid session still ends on its local schedule. Challenge rewards depend on which tiers players complete. Check the result before relying on a particular boost. Our Halloween rewards guide covers the separate Halloween research and pass deadlines.
