Phantom Blade Zero launches October 29, 2026, or October 28 in the US and select regions, on PS5 and PC. Developer S-Game first planned September 9, then moved the date by 50 days in June. The new date has held through pre-orders and a State of Play deep dive, and the game costs $59.99 on Steam in the US.

- Release date October 29, 2026 (October 28 in the US and select regions)
- Original date September 9, 2026

Why the game was delayed
S-Game announced the delay on June 2, 2026, the day of a PlayStation State of Play. Founder and CEO Soulframe published the news in A Letter From Creative Director, which sits on the studio's site and on the game's Steam news page. The letter says the team upgraded a number of character models and reworked many environments, and worked to keep the visuals strong without relying on ray tracing, which remains an enhancement.
The studio wrote that it did not want to release the game "knowing there is still an opportunity to take it one step further." It added that 50 days cannot solve everything, but they cover a set of clearly defined improvements that would otherwise have waited for post-launch updates. Inven Global reports the same points.
Confirmed
The October 29 date, the September 9 original date and the 50-day delay all come from S-Game's own letter. PlayStation Blog repeats October 29 and adds that it is October 28 in the US and select regions.
Platforms, price and pre-order bonuses
The Steam store page lists the game for Windows at $59.99 for the Standard Edition and $69.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition, in US dollars, with a release of October 28, 2026. PlayStation Blog confirms pre-orders on PlayStation 5, which opened on August 11 alongside a new trailer. Gematsu's report of the delay also names the Epic Games Store, and Inven Global does too, but S-Game has not confirmed it, so treat Epic as reported.
Pre-ordering on either platform unlocks the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit early. Steam's page says the accessory raises the Remnant Dust drop rate by 10 percent, and both items can also be earned through normal play. Prices outside the US may differ.
PC requirements
The Steam page lists a minimum of an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB, aimed at 1080p and 30 frames per second with upscaling. The recommended spec is a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6700 XT, aimed at 1440p and 60 frames per second with upscaling. An SSD is required on both. Steam also discloses Denuvo copy protection and lists English and Simplified Chinese among the languages with full audio. No storage size is listed yet.
What the game is
S-Game describes Phantom Blade Zero on Steam as a mix of classic wuxia storytelling and fast action, built on Unreal Engine 5. You play Soul, who is framed for murdering his master and left with 66 days to live. The State of Play recap on PlayStation Blog adds more than 30 main weapons, 25 secondary weapons called Phantom Edges, and three difficulty modes: Wayfarer, Hellwalker and Sixty-Six Days.
Donnie Yen is the game's creative consultant and plays Mó Yuan through facial and motion capture. PlayStation Blog's pre-order post identifies the character as Soul's father. The studio's own deep dive video shows the combat and story setup.
What is still unclear
Preload timing has not been announced, and the Steam page shows a countdown to October 28 rather than an unlock time. No Xbox version has been announced either, and Steam lists only Windows. If you plan to play on day one, check the Steam page and the PlayStation Store in the week before launch for the exact unlock time in your region, since the October 28 and October 29 dates depend on where you live. Pre-ordering is optional here, because the two bonus items can be earned through normal progression.
Unconfirmed rumour
Inven Global says the PS5 version is a timed console exclusive. Neither S-Game nor PlayStation material states the length or terms of any exclusivity, so treat it as unconfirmed.
